The Therapy Exchange – One month In

A huge thank you, what’s new, and useful resources for your practice

Hello to all you lovely Therapy Exchange Therapists,

We've done our first month at The Therapy Exchange and I wanted to say a big thank you to you for coming on board and building the foundation of The Therapy Exchange with me.

I decided to set The Therapy Exchange up when I thought about going back into therapy and realising the cost would suddenly be a big financial jump. Talking to therapist friends, I heard the same thing – the irony of being therapists who sometimes can’t quite commit to the cost of our own therapy! It’s a reminder that what we earn is income, not profit, and that access matters.

So here we are, one month in. I hope that you've all settled into your therapy with your fellow therapists, and I know that some are yet to start but I hope it goes smoothly for you.

I welcome any feedback you might have so that I can improve things as we go – what’s working, what’s clunky, what would help – so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

This will be a monthly note to keep us connected and share what’s new across The Therapy Exchange. You can unsubscribe any time.

Here’s what you can expect each month:

I hope you'll find it interesting and useful – If you have a brilliant resource, CPD, a book to recommend, or business tip for the next edition, email me and I’ll include it 📩

Warmly,
Anne

Your Wellbeing – Boundaries That Breathe

Boundaries aren’t walls – they’re more like the lungs of our emotional life. They expand and contract as we need. This month, notice where you might need to exhale a little – do you need to let go of some expectations of yourself this month?

📚 Something I've been reading

📘 My Book of the Month: It Begins With You by Jillian Tureki.

This is an inspiring read from Relationship Coach, Jillian Tureki – Her book and podcast (Jillian on Love) is focused on helping us to understand that the other person isn't always the problem. If you're interested in relationships, how they work, and what we can do as individuals to heal within them, her podcast and this book is a great resource.

Until next time, take care of yourself 🌿

The Therapy Exchange Newsletter 🌿 Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing okay. Firstly, my apologies as I missed sending a newsletter last month. I got myself a little burnout trying to complete some coursework on my supervision training course and it completely took over. In true ADHD style, I left it until the last minute and then felt very depleted. By the time I surfaced, the month had gone. I'm sure some of you will recognise that particular flavour of chaos! I'm back now, and I'm...

The Therapy Exchange 🌿 NEW YEAR Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing okay and staying warm – it feels very wintery out there! I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means for us to be therapists who also have to run a practice – the client work, the admin, the energy it takes, the gaps we forget to give ourselves… it all adds up. So, as we edge toward the end of the year, I’ve been looking at my own practice and noticing all the little things that need doing: planning January and...

The Therapy Exchange Newsletter 🌿 Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing okay. We’re now well into February. The new-year energy has usually settled by this point. The decorations are long gone. The light is slowly returning, but it’s still grey enough that getting up in the morning can feel like an effort. And in the therapy room, February can feel… full. By now, many of our clients have moved past the catching us up conversations of January and are back in the thick of their patterns,...
